Cleaning steps for culture dishes

Date:2023-01-13
Generally, it goes through four steps: soaking, brushing, pickling, and cleaning.
1. Soaking: New or used glassware should be soaked in clean water first to soften and dissolve attachments. Before using new glassware, simply brush it with tap water and then soak it overnight with 5% hydrochloric acid; Used glassware often contains a large amount of protein and oil, which is difficult to brush off after drying. Therefore, it should be immediately immersed in clean water for brushing after use.
2. Brushing: Place the soaked glassware in detergent water and brush repeatedly with a soft bristle brush. Do not leave dead corners and prevent damage to the surface smoothness of the utensils. Wash and air dry the cleaned glassware for pickling.
3. Pickling: Pickling refers to soaking the aforementioned utensils in a cleaning solution, also known as acid solution, to remove potential residual substances on the surface of the utensils through the strong oxidation effect of the acid solution. Pickling should not be less than six hours, usually overnight or longer. Be careful when placing and taking utensils.
4. Rinsing: After brushing and pickling, the utensils must be thoroughly rinsed with water. Whether the utensils are washed clean after pickling directly affects the success or failure of cell culture. Hand wash pickled utensils. Each container should be repeatedly "filled with water - emptied" at least 15 times, and finally soaked with heavy distilled water 2-3 times. Dry or dry before packaging for later use.
